Mary West Barclay is the CEO of The George Chambers Resource Center. She received her BA from the State University of West Georgia and her MS from Capella University. Mary also attended the University of Tennessee where she completed the Interpreter Training Program, and she is fluent in American Sign Language. Mary’s experiences in the field of disabilities began when she completed the Interpreter Training Program and started working in a post-secondary educational system as an Interpreter for the Deaf in their Disabilities Support Department. After earning her BS degree, Mary began providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities as the Program Director for Haralson Progressive Industries. Mary has also worked with the State of Georgia in the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities as the Provider Development Director and was responsible for recruiting new providers of developmental disabilities services in Georgia. While working for the State of Georgia, Mary also served on multiple committees and provided expertise for the creation and implementation of policies that advocated and supported individuals and providers in developmental disabilities services. Mary has four adult children and lives in Rome, Georgia.
